Tim S. O'Brien, Vice-President
Tim is from the oldest family in Greyhound Racing. Born and raised in Lake Tahoe, CA. Received his Eagle Scout Award in record time. He graduated from Loyola Marymount University along with his wife, Julia, in 1996. Tim received his degree in Humanities with concentration in History. In 1999, Tim started his quest for O.P. Smith and spoke at the 30th anniversary of Smith’s induction into the Greyhound Hall of Fame in 2003. Leslie Wootten, regular writer for the Greyhound Review, calls Tim "an expert when it comes to O.P. Smith." Also in 2003, adopted his first retired racer "Bevo" in March. In 2004, he was a featured speaker at the AGTOA conference in Las Vegas. That same year Tim and his father Jim O’Brien were the co-sponsors of Hannah M. Smith’s Induction into the Greyhound Hall of Fame. She was the first woman to ever head an International Sport and the first woman to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Her induction ceremony was in October, 2004. Tim is the webmaster for the up and coming website www.opsmith.net. Where people will be able to see a pictorial history of the beginning of our Sport.
Tim continues to love this breed and his love of the "Sport of Queens" still grows as he weaves through the mystery of who and how the sport began.
